I'm working on a diorama set within a cigar box with a hinged lid, to be hung on the wall. It's a relatively small space for the big idea I have.
My vision is a fantastical scene; I picture a jug band entertaining a bunch of jubilant bears, dancing the night away to the music, in a moonlit forest clearing. It's a project outside of my usual art-making in pastels and oil paint. It's in 3D! In miniature!
At the outset, I knew that I would use HO scale figures because they're the best size for the box's proportions. The rest I would figure out along the way. It's problem solving that I like. My original idea is that I would illuminate the scene with ambient light by holes cut through the cedar box. But that idea soon left the station.
As I got searching the web for all things scale modeling, I got curious about the lighting systems used in miniature settings. I chose Dioramo to explore and I'm glad I did. The site is easy to navigate and I found that, I, new to these technologies, could quickly learn about the possibilities for miniature systems to boost my project.
When I hit upon the flickering orange and yellow lights, in miniature, my imagination lit up. I had my campfire! I could light my jug band from the front, if I could make it work.
So far, I am. The Plug & Play System is the game changer for me. It's simple efficiency makes it possible for me to figure things out as I go. I share a behind the scenes look at my set up. I will add a pushbutton on/off switch to the side, after I add more depth to the frame.
The front view is still very much a sketch. Here's a look at some of my process on that. I know what I hope to achieve—we'll see how close to that vision I'll get. More to come!

First time of purchasing lighting for a model. Thought I would give it a good. Online and found your company. Plug and play sounds easy. . Let’s go. Ordered and it was coming from America to the UK. Turned up before the delivery date. Plug and play . . Within 5 minutes of opening the box I have flickering lights. AMAZING. Will definitely purchase more in the future. I recently purchased the small starter kit which arrived on March 12. It is an amazing product. The packaging is great, and someone in your facility needs a raise. I'm laughing out loud. The attention to detail is awesome, the connector tool indicated to me that designers on your team are thinking about installation and modification for the users. Being a bit older these additions to the product are helpful. The safety designed into the connection to help prevent damage to the system during installation is perfect, again someone is thinking about the user and their interfacing with the product.

The product is well-built, well-thought-out, easy to use, and from the connection diagrams on our website appears to be very adaptable.

Last evening I plugged the system together and was impressed, Congratulations to the marketing, engineering, and manufacturing teams, this is a Grand Slam!

I would like to take a moment to thank Philip for helping me with my order. He took the time to personally answer my questions which is rare these days. I've only been modeling for about a year, but the lighting selection and ease of use has considerably upped my game. Installing dimmers and switches for multiple sections is incredibly easy, and having worked in facilities, it's great to have Kelvin listed with the color, so I can accurately represent common lighting such as sodium bulbs, mercury vapor, incandescent, etc. Communication has been excellent, and the notes in the box are a great personal touch. Keep doing it right!!

Easy to assemble and use, excellent lighting for my train setup, glad I got the DIY Adaptor for use with my street lights, no resistors needed, time Saver. The PDF's were easy to use and understand, I am NOT an electrician, but this system worked as described. Fun project to add all the lighting I wanted.

1 week before Christmas, our son remembers a couple stocking stuffers he would like. I placed my order hoping to get it on time. I emailed Dioramo told them the situation. I just completed the updates to our Christmas Village this year, which were primarily lighting and a couple of new scenes. The Dioramo lighting products made it extremely easy to add some dynamic lighting effects to the various scenes across my layout and I could not be happier with the visual interest gained by mixing and matching the golden white, flickering orange, and warm white LEDs.

I have already started to make plans for enhancing our Christmas village next year with additional lighting elements.

Very well designed and built products. Love the fact that the hubs have 10 outputs instead of 4. Also like the fact that hubs can be daisy chained with a simple cable and not an expansion hub. Very reasonably priced.

I recently bought the Pro Set and installed it on my model railroad. It was super easy to install and it looks fantastic. Visitors were amazed at how more realistic my building looks with the lights installed. Best and easiest LED kits I have ever used.
