Switching Multiple Dioramo Lighting System Modules ON/OFF Together

The Expansion Ports on Dioramo Lighting System Modules are designed to pass through full power regardless of the module's switch state or effect (like dimming or blinking). This lets you control each module independently while sharing a single power source.

However, the system also lets you switch multiple modules on and off together with a single switch. You have two options to do so:

A.  “Switching in Conjunction” method:

Connect modules using Expansion Cables plugged into a Light Port (instead of the Expansion Port) of the previous module. Best for smaller systems.

or

B.  “Switch Hub” method:

Connecting multiple modules from one or more systems to a Switch Hub. Best for larger systems.

The Dioramo Lighting System's modular design allows for these different switching methods to be used in different parts of your system. Here are the details for each method:

A: Switching In Conjunction

Step 1:

1. Plug your switch into the first module.
2. All other modules should have Jumpers plugged into their Switch Ports.
   

Step 2:

1. Plug an Expansion Cable (the white connector plug) into a Light Port on the first module.
2. Plug the DC connector of the Expansion Cable into the Power Port of the second module.
   

Step 3:

1. Repeat Step 2 to connect more modules if needed.
2. You may daisy-chain an unlimited number of modules together to power up to a maximum of 150 lights per string of connected modules.
   

Note:

1. If a module with an effect (like dimming or blinking) is connected earlier in a chain of modules, all following modules will inherit that effect.
   

B: Switch Hub

Step 1:

1. Plug your switch into a Switch Hub (#20302)

Step 2:

1. Connect all your modules to the Switch Hub, using Switch Hub Cables.

Step 3:

1. If needed, you may daisy-chain an unlimited number of additional Switch Hubs, using Switch Hub Cables.

Notes:

1. Your main switch may be plugged into any of the connected Switch Hubs.
2. Switch Hubs include a Power Light Port, which allows for any Dioramo Lighting System compatible light to illuminate when the switch turns on power.
3. Switch Hubs may be connected to modules from separate Dioramo Lighting Systems. This allows multiple separate lighting systems to be turned on and off together using a single switch.
