Will my LED Light Fixtures work with the Dioramo Lighting System?

We understand that many modelers have 3rd party LED light fixtures from other systems, or they've bought from a far-away marketplace. Some of you even have DIY custom-built lights using LED components in their models and dioramas.

You’re in luck! Dioramo has options for you.

Of course, we offer a growing selection of lights for the Dioramo Lighting System which is an easy-peasy plug-and-play solution at a fair price. But we know the reality is that many of you already have invested in miniature light fixtures or prefer wiring up your own, but would like a better way to bring together, control, and expand your Scale Model Lighting at an affordable cost.

The Dioramo Lighting System was designed with all these situations in mind, putting the model builders' needs at the forefront. Whether you're plug-and-playing across the field, DYI-ing, or both. A Centralized power and controlling system for all your lights with de-mystified specifications, is something many hobbyists can benefit from.

The Dioramo Lighting System runs on 12 Volts DC. The Power Supply inputs 12V into the Modules, and the Modules outputs up to 12V to the Lights.

Simple right?

This standardized 12V approach offers better LED controlling options and greater power distribution stability. Some other systems may not be very forthcoming with their specifications, but here's what we know:

Dioramo Lighting System Compatible LED Lights are prewired each with a current-limiting 510 ohm resistor to run optimally with the maximum 12V supply. Our Dimmers output 0-12 Volts depending on the knob's dimming selection.

If your LED Light has no resistor prewired with it, it likely has a forward voltage requirement of only 2-3 Volts. This means your light needs to be adapted to accept 12V by adding a 510 ohm (or higher value) current-limiting resistor with a sufficient power rating.

No worries, Dioramo offers easy Adapters that take care of that!

Some other plug-and-play system LED lights may already be suited for 12V, and we even utilize the same JST-XH connector plug. If so, then you're good to go! You may plug their lights straight into the Dioramo Lighting System (or our lights into theirs).
